Co-founder/Chief Technology Officer: Dr. Liu Dong-chyuan

B.S. in Mathematics and M.S. in Applied Mathematics from Tsinghua University, Taiwan, and M.S. in Applied Mathematics and Ph.D. in Computer Science from Northwestern University, USA. He has nearly 25 years of experience in ultrasound research and development, including 11 years as Chief Scientist Officer at Siemens Ultrasound in Washington, D.C., where he was awarded 18 U.S. patents and was one of the four original designers of the Siemens ultrasound device ELEGRA. He holds 24 Chinese invention patents and has published more than 100 academic papers, one of which has been cited more than 5,900 times (inventor of the core machine learning algorithm L-BFGS), and has been a Distinguished Professor at Sichuan University since 2004 and a Ph. In 2013, he led the technical team to develop the world's first wireless bladder volume scanner, which was awarded 9 patents, including invention and design, thus initiating the trend of wireless and portable ultrasonic medical products.

Chief Operating Officer: Lu Yuan

Graduated from Sichuan Normal University, she has nearly 16 years of international sales and HR management experience in the medical industry, familiar with international cooperation projects and ISO9001:13485 Medical Device Quality Management System and EU CE, Japan PMDA and China CFDA registration. In 2013, she was involved in the development of the BVS wireless blader volume scanner and the establishment of Mediate Technology.

Co-founder: Jacob P. Paauwe

Graduated from the University of Groningen, the Netherlands, with nearly 25 years of experience in international sales and management in the medical industry, he was the Marketing Director of Medtronic Europe, USA and the Chief Operating Officer of Verathon Europe, USA. In 2013, he started the development of the BVS wireless bladder volume scanner together with co-founder Dr. Liu Dong-chyuan and established Mediate Tech. in the following year.

Mediate's R&D Team

Mediate's R&D team is based in the Medical Imaging Laboratory of the School of Computer Science at Sichuan University, with Dr. Liu Dong-chyuan (Professor and PhD supervisor at Sichuan University, Head of the Medical Imaging Laboratory at Sichuan University) as the Chief Technical Officer, and all team members are lecturers at the School of Computer Science at Sichuan University and researchers in the Medical Imaging Laboratory. They specialise in ultrasound signal processing, image processing, algorithm design, hardware and software design, etc.
